Black and White Circle Mandala

Description

This black and white circle mandala hex tile is hypnotic in the most literal sense — stare at it for a moment and you’ll find your eye pulled inexorably toward the center, drawn through ring after ring of carefully varied mark-making until it arrives at a small, perfect flower at the very core. One large mandala dominates the center of the hexagon, its concentric circles alternating between dot rows, crosshatch grid panels, scalloped petal bands, and bold black outlines. Around it, six more mandalas press in from the edges, each one showing only its outer rings — as if a whole field of mandalas extends beyond the tile in every direction.

This is original artwork by Bridget Koonce, and the dot-field background is what sets it apart from anything else in the collection. Between and around the circles, thousands of individually placed dots create a stippled texture that gives the white ground a soft, atmospheric depth — like pointillist painting or Aboriginal dot art. The effect is that the mandalas seem to float above a surface rather than sit on one, giving the whole composition an unexpected dimensionality.

In black and white it’s endlessly versatile — it pairs with virtually any palette and works in almost any room. It has the quality of something that belongs in a fine art print gallery, the kind of piece that makes a space feel genuinely curated and considered. This tile is UV printed on 1/8″ Baltic birch wood for a warm, natural finish that makes the colors pop. The back is engraved with the HexWallTiles website. It comes as a standalone tile — you can use sticky tack to apply it directly to your wall, or pair it with one of our hexagon frames for a more finished look. Frames, necklaces, and all other hexagon accessories are sold separately.
