Description
This hummingbird stained glass hex tile is one of those pieces that makes people stop and stare — because there’s simply so much to take in. A ruby-throated hummingbird hovers mid-flight at the center of a golden medallion, wings spread wide and catching light from every direction. The featherwork is extraordinary: iridescent green at the crown and back, jewel-blue at the breast, deep violet at the tail, the wings rendered in careful striated detail that captures the blur of actual hummingbird flight. Behind it, a luminous cloudscape in orange, teal, and gold glows like a sunset seen through a cathedral window. Lush orange blooms and green foliage frame the medallion, and the surrounding hexagon fills with deep cobalt blue stained glass, fractured and light-dappled in the classic leaded tradition.
The hummingbird is one of nature’s most beloved subjects — fast, fierce, improbably delicate, and carrying a long symbolic tradition of joy, resilience, and the beauty of living fully in each moment. This rendering honors all of that while also being, on a purely visual level, a genuinely spectacular piece of art. It belongs near a window where natural light can play across it, but it works beautifully anywhere you want a piece with real luminosity and presence.
Pair it with the Mourning Dove stained glass tile for a stunning avian duo, or browse our full Stained Glass collection for more jewel-toned designs.
This tile is UV printed on 1/8″ Baltic birch wood for a warm, natural finish that makes the colors pop. The back is engraved with the HexWallTiles website. It comes as a standalone tile — you can use sticky tack to apply it directly to your wall, or pair it with one of our hexagon frames for a more finished look. Frames, necklaces, and all other hexagon accessories are sold separately.
Wondering where to hang it? HexWallTiles work beautifully in a home office, bedroom, or living room. Hang a single tile as a standalone statement piece, cluster several together for a gallery wall effect, or wind them down a hallway for something truly unexpected. The hex shape means every arrangement looks intentional — there are no wrong choices.
Made in small batches from natural materials here in Springfield, Missouri. Please allow for slight variation between tiles — that’s part of what makes each one unique and handmade.
