This colorful spiral scatter hex tile is the most purely playful piece in Bridget’s collection — and that’s exactly what makes it so appealing. Dozens of hand-drawn spirals in red, green, blue, and black drift across a clean white ground in every size, from tight little curls to generous open swirls, many of them clustering together in overlapping pairs and triplets as if they’ve found each other by chance. Dot accents are scattered between them like punctuation.

This is original artwork by Bridget Koonce, and it represents a very different mode from her dense mandala and pattern work. There’s a deliberate simplicity here — just the spiral, repeated in variation, given room to breathe. The spiral is one of the oldest marks in human art history, appearing in cave paintings, Celtic carving, ancient pottery, and henna design alike. The open white ground and light touch of the marks give the piece an airy quality that works beautifully in smaller spaces.

This tile is UV printed on 1/8″ Baltic birch wood for a warm, natural finish that makes the colors pop. The back is engraved with the HexWallTiles website. It comes as a standalone tile — you can use sticky tack to apply it directly to your wall, or pair it with one of our hexagon frames for a more finished look. Frames, necklaces, and all other hexagon accessories are sold separately.
