Description
This black and white henna medallion hex tile is dense, deliberate, and deeply satisfying — the kind of design where every square inch has been considered. A bold central flower with solid teardrop petals anchors the composition, surrounded by a ring of six ornate heart-and-fan motifs filled with tiny leaf sprigs and dot work. A continuous leaf-chain border rings the whole medallion, and the hexagonal outer edge is dotted at every corner and midpoint, tying the whole thing together with characteristic henna precision.
The layering here is what makes this design special. Each ring builds on the one before it, adding complexity without ever tipping into chaos. It’s the kind of controlled intricacy that comes from years of hand-drawing henna patterns — knowing how much to add and when to stop is its own art form. Bridget Koonce brings that same hand to every tile in this collection, and this one shows that skill at full force.
Medallion designs have deep roots in henna tradition, appearing on hands, feet, and arms at weddings and celebrations across South Asia and the Middle East. On wood, they translate into something more permanent — a piece of art that carries that heritage of beauty and craftsmanship into everyday spaces.
This tile is a natural anchor for a gallery wall, substantial enough to hold its own at the center of an arrangement or striking enough to stand alone. Pair it with the simpler designs in our Henna collection to let this one lead, or mix it with our Mandala collection for a rich, pattern-layered display.
This tile is UV printed on 1/8″ Baltic birch wood for a warm, natural finish that makes the colors pop. The back is engraved with the HexWallTiles website. It comes as a standalone tile — you can use sticky tack to apply it directly to your wall, or pair it with one of our hexagon frames for a more finished look. Frames, necklaces, and all other hexagon accessories are sold separately.
Wondering where to hang it? HexWallTiles work beautifully in a home office, bedroom, or living room. Hang a single tile as a standalone statement piece, cluster several together for a gallery wall effect, or wind them down a hallway for something truly unexpected. The hex shape means every arrangement looks intentional — there are no wrong choices.
Made in small batches from natural materials here in Springfield, Missouri. Please allow for slight variation between tiles — that’s part of what makes each one unique and handmade.
