Henna Sun

Bold, dramatic, and just a little bit wild — this black and white henna sun hex tile commands a wall the way a real sun commands a sky. A wide open circle sits at the center, surrounded by a dense ring of alternating flames: some filled solid black and heavy with ink, others drawn in spare outline strokes, all of them reaching outward in a corona of raw energy. This is not a polite sun. This sun has something to say.

The design pulls from the bold, high-contrast tradition of henna body art, where filled shapes and empty spaces work together to create maximum visual impact. Bridget Koonce draws on her years of henna work to bring that same balance to this piece — knowing exactly when to fill in and when to leave white space is a skill that takes time, and it shows here. This tile is UV printed on 1/8″ Baltic birch wood for a warm, natural finish that makes the colors pop. The back is engraved with the HexWallTiles website. It comes as a standalone tile — you can use sticky tack to apply it directly to your wall, or pair it with one of our hexagon frames for a more finished look.
